About Us

Born from Purpose

We manufacture 100% biodegradable water bottles made entirely from plants. They look and feel like standard bottles but break down completely in just 180 days.

01Origins

Our Story

Bakwa was founded in Kerala after witnessing plastic pollution choking local waterways. What began as a response to this crisis has grown into a mission to transform how India packages and consumes water.

Today, we manufacture plant-based biodegradable bottles for clients across India, proving that sustainable packaging can be both practical and commercially viable.

02The Problem

Plastic Bottles Do Not Simply Disappear

India generates lakhs of tonnes of plastic bottle waste each year. A large portion remains uncollected, eventually reaching rivers, coastlines and farmland. Conventional plastic bottles can take hundreds of years to degrade, breaking down into microplastics that re-enter the food chain.

“The need for eco-friendly water bottles in India is no longer optional. Bakwa was created in response to this gap.”

03Purpose

Our Mission

“To eliminate single-use plastic waste from the beverage industry by providing 100% plant-based, biodegradable bottles.”

Our bottles decompose naturally, contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations. No microplastics, no toxic chemical residues — just perfect alignment with nature.
